Patrol Readiness- Pistol 2
The next step in the Patrol Readiness series, Pistol 2 focuses on pistol manipulation, unconventional shooting positions, trauma medicine interventions, and partner teamwork scenarios.
During this course you will cover: Firearm Safety, Pistol Manipulations with Primary and Support Hands to include-Reloading Techniques, Malfunction Clearing, Drawing with Support Hand Only, Duty Belt Setup Considerations; Unconventional Shooting Positions to- Quickly change the angle of your shot, Shoot around low cover/concealment, Increase Survivability by becoming a smaller target, Drawing and Firing Safely from these positions, Kneeling, Supine, Fetal, Prone, Backup Gun Considerations; Trauma Medicine Overview- Tourniquets, Pressure Dressings, Chest Seals, Wound Packing, Medical Equipment Staging Considerations; Partner/Teamwork Scenarios- Covering Suspects with a Partner, Dividing Tasks, Target Discrimination, Clear Communication with Partner, Assessing Partner for Medical Aid, Use of Cover/Concealment, Shoot Move Communicate Principles.
Adding to the foundation established in Pistol 1, this course continues to round out the individual officer’s skillset to make them a more complete first responder to a given situation. Whether it be a shooting, trauma emergency, or working with another officer in a stressful environment, they will be better prepared to face it.
